Student Visa – UAE

To get a student visa in the UAE, you must secure admission at a recognized UAE university. The university acts as your sponsor and handles the entire application process on your behalf.  

How to Apply? 

Step 1: Secure Admission 

  • Apply to an accredited UAE university or college. Once accepted, you will receive an official Offer of Admission/Acceptance Letter. 

Step 2: Pay Fees & Submit Documents 

  • Accept your offer by paying the initial tuition deposit and visa processing fees. Submit the required documents to your university’s international student or visa office. 

Step 3: Obtain Entry Permit 

  • Once the university processes your application through the immigration portal, you will be issued an entry permit.
  • Use this entry permit to legally enter the UAE. 

Step 4: Medical & Biometrics 

  • After arriving in UAE, once the university initiates your visa, you will complete a medical fitness test (blood test and X-ray) and biometric/fingerprinting procedures at an authorized UAE health center upon arrival 

Step 5: Visa Issuance 

  • The university will finalize your paperwork with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), and your student residence visa will be stamped on your passport. 

 Documents required for Student visa: 

You will generally need to provide your university with the following: 

  • Valid Passport: Must have at least 6 months of validity. 
  • Admission Letter: Official acceptance letter from the UAE institution. 
  • Passport-sized Photographs: Sized according to UAE visa specifications. 
  • Financial Proof: Bank statements or a sponsor letter ensuring you can cover tuition and living expenses. 
  • Tuition Receipt: Proof of payment or confirmation letter from the university. 
  • Medical Insurance: Health insurance documentation valid in the UAE. 
  • Academic Transcripts: Copies of previous educational certificates.  

Alternative Sponsorships: 

Alternatively, if you have a family member who is a UAE resident, they can sponsor your visa. In this case, you can apply directly through the official General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai or the respective emirate’s portal.
