Family Dependent Visa – UAE

Who Qualifies as a Family/Dependent? 

Under US immigration rules, dependents typically include: 

• Spouse 
• Sons upto age 25 
• Unmarried daughters of any age 
• Parents  

Who can sponsor Family/Dependent visa? 

• You must hold a valid UAE residence visa and a stable job or registered business 
• You meet the minimum salary requirement of AED 4,000/month (or AED 3,000 with company-provided accommodation).  

How to apply? 

Step 1: Apply for entry permit

• You can apply for a UAE Family Visa through official government online portals – Use the ICP Smart Services https://icp.gov.ae/en/services/  (for all Emirates) or GDRFA Dubai https://gdrfad.gov.ae/en (for Dubai-specific applications), authorized physical typing centers, or licensed visa processing agencies.  

Step 2: Obtain the Entry Permit

• Once the entry permit work permit is approved, family member can arrive in UAE. 

Step 4: Enter the UAE and Complete Medical Testing

• Upon arrival in the UAE, you usually have 60 days to complete the residency process. You must undergo a mandatory medical fitness examination (blood test and X-ray) at an approved medical center. 

Step 5: Apply for Emirates ID and Residence Visa

• You need to use 44medical clearance certificate, entry permit, and passport to apply for Emirates ID and formally stamp the Residence Visa onto your family member passport.  You can apply for the ID and Residence visa at – New Identity Card Issuance

Documents required for Family visa: 

• For the sponsor 
  • Passport copy 
  • Photo 
  • Emirates ID 
  • Attested employment contract/salary certificate 
  • Bank statements (last 3-6 months) 
  • A registered tenancy contract 

• For the Dependents 
  • Passports valid for at least 6 months 
  • passport-sized photographs matching ICP specifications 
  • Relationship proofs – Marriage / Birth certificates establishing relationship with sponsor, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in the country of origin
